What are Migraine Headaches?

When experiencing a Classic Migraine, the patient will usually complain of head pain, light sensitivity, flashing lights, nausea, and vomiting.

What causes migraine?

Migraine headaches are usually caused by either an improper blood flow to the head or by abnormal changes in hormone levels. (This is why many women experience the migraines during the beginning part of their cycle.) In both cases, a pinching of the hindbrain, leading to nerve flow interference, is the cause. The pinching of the hindbrain is a result of s misalignment of the first bone of the neck.

What is the most common medical method of treating Migraines?

Usually, when a patient presents to a medical doctor with migraine headaches, the treatment will consist of medication. The use of drugs as therapy, however, is only successful in weakening the symptoms during the attack. Unfortunately, drug therapy does not prevent the headaches nor decrease the frequency. As well, the medications used have very serious and damaging side effects such as liver and kidney damage.

How does Chiropractic help with Migraine Headaches?

Through gentle adjustments to the upper bones of the neck, the pinching of the hindbrain is relieved. This allows for correct nerve flow to the blood vessels and to the organs, which control a woman's cycle. The results are usually immediate and long lasting.
